Chronic symptoms have a way of shrinking your world-- narrowing what you can do, where you can go, how much of yourself you have left to give. This is where you get your energy, your body, and your life back-- with real science, real compassion, and zero apology.
You've done all the tests, seen all the doctors, gotten no explanation or maybe several diagnoses, but you still have chronic symptoms-- maybe pain, fatigue, anxiety, stomach troubles, dizziness, or something else. You've tried so many treatments you've lost count, and maybe some helped for a bit, but it always comes back.
And through all of it, you haven't stopped. You're still showing up, still achieving, still holding your life together-- which means from the outside, no one would guess how much effort it's taking.
The way you're feeling is a natural consequence of a brain and body that never got the message that you are safe. So you stay alert, scanning for threats or shortfalls-- and that alert state is what leads your brain to interpret neutral signals as dangerous. This shows up in the body as pain, fatigue, anxiety, gut issues, dizziness, or symptoms that don't fit a clean diagnosis-- or perhaps lead to multiple differing explanations for the same symptoms. What it’s not is a character flaw, a lack of trying hard enough, a lack of willpower, or a sign that it is “all in your head”. These symptoms are real. The cause just isn’t where you’ve been looking for it-- which means there’s a way out.
I’m Dr. Laura Grangeia-- a physician board-certified in Emergency Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, with a special interest in Mind Body Medicine. Mind Body Medicine is backed by real research, but it's not yet part of how most doctors are trained-- so most people never hear that it's an option, and end up managing symptoms with medication or procedures instead of addressing what's actually driving them. Now my work is focused on how our thoughts, beliefs, emotions and physical bodies are all connected and how this connection can be used to free people from chronic pain as well as other chronic neuroplastic symptoms. I work with people who have learned to function the same way I learned to-- pushing through, achieving, holding it together, doing the most. I know that pattern from the inside and have built this work around it.
